A Tribute to Hong Kong's Original Copywriters
Plying their trade in Hong Kong’s not-quite-oldest profession, letter writers – or “seh sun lo” (寫信佬) – have slung words in the city's back alleys for over 100 years.
Helping the illiterate communicate with overseas relatives by writing and reading letters, they also filled out forms and applications, and occasionally dabbled in a bit of bookkeeping.
